After four successful years running The Mill in Boston (from January 2008 until January 2012) we are now focusing our efforts on The Ball House hopefully making the business as successful as The Mill was. I (Tracy Topliss) will be heading up the front of house team, after too many years to remember working in this industry from Managing Hotels to running my own business I think I just about know what Iím doing now! I have a small team of friendly staff including my mum who will look after you all when Iím not about.
I am very fortunate to have my husband Paul in the kitchen along with Joe Moore and Dale Mcmahon. Paul has worked both in the uk and abroad as a chef and although I am quite biased he really is a fantastic cook. Alongside Paul is Joe Moore who again has worked in the industry for a number of years and prior to coming to The Ball House he had worked alongside Paul at several different establishments. You may also see Joe front of house sometimes when I can drag him out of the kitchen! You will definitely see Joe on a Sunday behind the carvery when you come along. Dale like Joe has also worked with Paul previously and whilst we still had The Mill, Dale spent several months as Pauls second.
As well as all of us you will also notice our beautiful German Sheppard roaming around sometimes, Max was a rescue dog and we have had him 5 years, he is very used to being in a pub environment, is very friendly and will never bother you whilst you are eating. Max stays in the bar most the time mainly on the sofa although Iím doing my best to train him to stop in his bed! You may also see my dad pottering round looking after the gardens, hanging baskets and basically fixing anything that needs fixing!
We are a close nit family team who all enjoy this industry, our aim is to make you feel welcome, feed you well and let you leave happy!
